Insight Bootcamp Review

Insight is an academy based in Palo Alto that offers a fellowship program in data science. Classes are also held in New York City along with remote campuses in Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Insight is expected to launch fellowship programs in other cities in the future. The Data Science Fellows Program is an intensive 7-week post-doctoral training fellowship aimed at bridging the gap between academia and data science.
Insight features data science mentors participating from over a dozen companies, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The fellowship program is cost-free with need-based travel and living expense scholarships available. Additionally, office space is also included for the duration of the in-person programs and there is help for international students in handling any necessary visa arrangements.
The fellowship program is self-directed, project-based learning under the guidance of top industry data scientists. Students learn frameworks and languages such as: Git, Github, jQuery, MySQL, React, MongoDB, Hadoop, NumPy, scikit-learn, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and R. Fellows also have the opportunity to network with alumni, who come from various fields such as physics, mathematics, biology, neuroscience, operational management, and many more. Fellows have guaranteed Interviews with at least 6 major companies–like Facebook, Google, and rising start-ups–upon completion of the fellowship program. Insight has a 100% success rate in placing fellows with mentor companies immediately following completion of the program.
