Overview of CodeX Academy
CodeX Academy is a platform designed to arm you with the skills necessary to become a developer. Three unique developer certification programs cover primary technologies, with some programs covering more than others. The courses begin with an orientation to facilitate your long-term success and mentor-led daily progress meetings. You will receive your certification after mastering the course content. Then, you will have access to a resume-building internship as a software developer and be able to add this to your resume under experience. Finally, you will be ready to begin your career in software development.
What does CodeX Academy do?
CodeX Academy is a platform that teaches you how to code through daily mentoring sessions and a focused curriculum. There are three different developer certification programs available that you can take depending on the type of coding language you want to learn. The programs also take different lengths of time to complete and have different tuition prices.
The Full-Stack Developer course focuses on helping you to develop challenging full-stack data-driven web applications using best practices in technologies such as ReactJS and NodeJS. A full-stack developer works on developing a software application, including developing and maintaining all features in all layers, including the user interface, the browser logic, back-end APIs, and business domain and database. This course also includes unlimited learning pathway access to learn the content, 24/7 community chat access, projects to help you build a portfolio, and internship opportunities/career counseling. The time to complete this course is six months full-time and 12+ months part-time. This course will cover all technologies in the Front End Developer course and the NPM-Node Package Manager, NodeJS, C#, ExpressJS, Jest, Mongo DB, Postgre SQL, and TypeScript.
The Full-Stack Engineer developer certification program focuses on developing complex, secure, and well-engineered full-stack web applications using multiple front-end and back-end technologies. A full-stack engineer works using “Agile Software Development” to help lead the entire development team through sound project management, Agile and Lean practices, and principled software development techniques. This course also features unlimited learning pathway access to learn the content, 24/7 community chat access, projects to help you build a portfolio, and internship opportunities/ career counseling. The time to complete the course is nine months full-time or 18+ months part-time. The technologies covered in this course are all technologies in the Front End Developer and Full-Stack Developer, along with ASP.NET, Amazon AWS, Docker, Figma, and VueJS.
The mentorship part of the course features live 1-on-1 mentorship to learn to code when you get stuck. This personal mentor can answer you through chat or video call to help you work through your issues and accelerate your learning.
After completing your certification, you also have the opportunity to participate in an impactful internship to work on your newly learned skills and jump-start the “experience” section of your resume.
CodeX Academy focuses on using the most popular and marketable technologies throughout the stack. The courses are also self-paced to help you learn at your own pace and give you the freedom you need to master the technology.
The courses are also incremental learning-based, so you learn what you need when you need it and help you retain the information. Using thin slices of relevant technology for a project will reinforce the concepts. The program is also mastery-based and forces you to learn the content so you cannot go onto the next topic without understanding the previous material.
