The Firehose Project offers a fully-online web development training through the Virtual Coding Bootcamp, which runs for 15 weeks. One of the unique features of the Firehose Project is the free 2-week Firehose Intro course. The second part of the Virtual Coding Bootcamp is the Firehose Core, which is the main program itself where students learn Git, Github, AngularJS, MongoDB, jQuery, Rails, NoSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, and SQL.
During the Firehose Intro, students learn to build a website, get code reviews and learn how to solve Ruby coding challenges that screen out the majority of programming job applicants before they ever get to an interview. In the 13-week Firehose Core, students build 5 fully functional web applications, learn how to write algorithms, and go deep into Test Driven Development. The Virtual Coding Bootcamp also allows students to join a group project and build an advanced application as a team or launch their own web application idea.
The tuition cost of the Virtual Coding Bootcamp is $4,000, which can be paid in five monthly installments of $900. The Firehose Project offers students job preparation upon completion of the program, résumé reviews, and guidance with GitHub and LinkedIn profiles.
