More About Viking Code School Bootcamp

Viking Code School is an immersive online software engineering and job placement program catered towards mid-level professionals who already have a technical background in languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, R and Python. Applications are open to all, but the admission process is rigorous. In the first phase of the admission process, applicants will have to take the Viking Prep Work. If the applicant is accepted for an interview, Viking Code School will provide additional information about further preparation that applicants can take.
The Viking Code School cohort itself is as rigorous as the admission process, and students are required to focus entirely on training throughout the duration of the 16-week program. This level of commitment will leave minimal room for any other significant responsibilities and activities (i.e. part-time jobs, other courses, or side projects). In the Viking Code School cohort, students learn: Git, Github, AngularJS, MongoDB, jQuery, Rails, Heroku, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Sinatra, Ruby, Python, and R.
Students accepted into the program do not pay tuition. Instead, there is a $2,000 refundable deposit that will hold the applicant’s spot in the program. The deposit is returned to any participant who takes part in Viking Code School’s placement process but is unable to find a job within 180 days of successfully completing the program. Participants pay a fee which is 18% of their first year’s salary.
